Obama’s ‘most unexpected guests’ to host at Pure
Tue, Jan 5, 2010 (6:24 p.m.)
Tareq and Michaele Salahi crashed an invitation-only White House dinner last fall and posted their pictures from the event - including this one with vice president Joe Biden - on Facebook. The couple will host a party Jan. 16 at Pure Nightclub.
Well, the Salahis won't have to crash this party.
Tareq and Michaele Salahi, better known as the White House party crashers, will be the guests of honor Jan. 16 at Pure when the Virginia couple hosts the Saturday night party at the Caesars Palace nightclub.
The Salahis became flash-in-the-pan celebrities when they strolled into a presidential state dinner honoring the Indian prime minister Nov. 24, 2009. Bypassing the normally required invitation, the couple enjoyed themselves at the soiree, including posing for pictures with Vice President Biden, which they later posted on Facebook.
Achieving fame is apparently on the Salahis to-do list. The couple previously auditioned for Bravo's Real Housewives of Washington, though their party crashing has earned them far more mileage in the celebrity department. Now, the couple is engaging in a celeb rite of passage — hosting a party at a Las Vegas nightclub.
A press release from Pure Management Group today called Tareq and Michaele Salahi "President Obama's most unexpected guests" and confirmed that the pair will be walking the red carpet and hosting the Jan. 16 event.
Perhaps some Pure party crashing is in order as an homage to the Salahis and their Secret-Service-may-care approach to a night on the town. For guests without the proper ID, making it past the club's men in black actually could be harder than slipping into a presidential state dinner.
