The menu at this pleasant, well-appointed breakfast/lunch joint in the Silverado Center is mostly what you’d expect—the pancake-y, Cobb salad-y variety. Which made the discovery of hummus all the more intriguing. I’m a fanatic for the chickpea-based food enhancer, so I ordered the Mediterranean wrap (tuna, hummus, roasted red peppers, lettuce and tomato, $7.99) and a side of hummus with pita wedges ($6.99). Yummy! Turns out the owners are Middle Eastern, and their hummus—thicker than I’m used to, almost the consistency of slightly melted butter—is among the best I’ve had. The wrap is simple but has a hearty hummus aftertaste.
Oh, they do other food just fine as well—my dining buddy ordered the Philly beef melt and fries and didn’t have a crumb left on his plate. The owners are about to celebrate their one-year anniversary, which is saying something given the economy. There’s something to be said for keeping things simple—and delicious.
