It’s official: Las Vegas Weekly is good for the city. In our October 22 Pizza Issue, we unveiled the Las Vegas Weekly Pizza, available until December 2009 at all Metro Pizza locations throughout the valley. It was a pie that reflected all the things the Weekly stands for (good presentation, plenty of filling between the top and bottom crusts, and just a little cheese), and best of all, owners John Arena and Sam Facchini pledged to donate a portion of sales to local food charities.

Well, we’re happy to announce that Metro sold 371 of those puppies between the issue date and the end of the year, leading to an incredible 1,600 pounds of food being delivered to hungry Las Vegans. To Arena and Facchini, not to mention all those who purchased the Las Vegas Weekly Pizza, a heartfelt thanks.
