The only thing better than getting drunk and singing karaoke is getting drunk and singing karaoke while someone records every off-key note and slur with the intention of uploading the video to YouTube to ensure your embarrassment is broadcast worldwide.

That doesn't sound good at all, actually, but a free trip to New York City, Miami or Chicago might be worth it.

This month, Sushisamba unveiled Sake-oke Superstar, an ongoing karaoke contest held Wednesdays from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. in the restaurant's adjoining Sugarcane Lounge. The competition will award one lucky crooner a free trip to one of the chain's four North American locations (New York City, Miami, Chicago, Las Vegas). All participants have to do is perform karaoke for a live audience. The Palazzo fusion restaurant will record the performances, upload them to its YouTube page and let the voting begin.

Each participant gets a complimentary cocktail, but we suggest slamming down more than one before taking stage. The lounge also offers 20 percent off bottles of sake during the event. That's more like it!

So far the competition includes a non-descript white boy rapping Coolio's "Gangsta's Paradise" and a different non-descript white dude tackling Jay-Z's "99 Problems" (watch out, he has backup). Sure, there are some decent singers, too, but they're not nearly as entertaining.

Sake-oke Superstar ends May 2. The winner, to be chosen democratically by vote total, will win a package including dinner at a Sushisamba location, airfare and hotel accommodations for one night. Don't worry, you can bring a friend.
