Three days after the release of sophomore album Death Potion, heavy metal quartet Early Man are set to rock out with their long flowing locks out at the Cheyenne Saloon. With a traditional sound and a music-first approach, the Brooklyn-turned-LA-based band has already earned respect from fans of the likes of Slayer and Metallica. If that’s not enough, consider this: Early Man track “More to Me than Meat and Eyes” was featured on the Aqua Teen Hunger Force film soundtrack. And really, what’s cooler than singing in support of a wad of meat?

Early Man with Babilos, Of the Gods, Cirka:Sik, Substance, The Fat Dukes of Fuck. July 23, 9 p.m., $10. Cheyenne Saloon, 645-4139.
