"World's Greatest Hamburgers?" Really? That's what you want your slogan to be? How about "Eat fresh!" or some similarly nondebatable point? Yet such was the decision of Farmer Boys, a primarily California-based chain with a few Nevada locations. Such hubris can't go unchallenged. Verdict: The Farmer's Burger, sporting cheese, bacon and avocado, falls somewhere in the middle of my life experience with burgers. Every order is cooked fresh, so for fast food, this is a significant leap above others of its ilk. But in the realm of truly great burgers, this wouldn't crack my top 10. Love the onion rings, though.
