"Unprecedented concert event" typically refers to the latest pop superstar rolling through town, but this time the publicity phrasing carries some local weight. For June's First Friday, the arts district welcomes the inaugural 18b Music Festival, featuring five local bands spanning the genre board.
Calendar
- 18b Music Festival
- June 4, 5:30-10 p.m., $10. Las Vegas Sculpture Park, 107 E. Charleston Blvd., brnrsd.com.
Kid Meets Cougar will blast indie-electro, Mother McKenzie will croon on the singer/songwriter tip, The Dirty Panties will bring estrogen-packed punk, Formality will showcase a classic-rock sound and Interzone will go ambient-jazz tunes. Topping it all off: a DJ set courtesy from Midnight Affair. All that music is surely worth the $10 admission price, and it goes toward a good cause to boot—Vegas' art and music scene.
