Depending on whom you talk to, Calvin Leslie is a savior, a con artist or an opportunist.

Updating a March 11 item: Calvin Leslie, whom we featured in August 2008 (“Homeless Shelter?”), is a free man after charges against him in Georgia were dropped. The charges included forgery and theft by deception; Leslie’s attorney says they were dropped primarily because “victims could not be located.” Leslie had been arrested in Clark County in December 2009, and was eventually transported to Georgia.

Leslie’s company, C&L Property Management, finds single-family homes to “rent” to the homeless using county subsidies. He returned to Las Vegas last week. “I’ve been exonerated, and I’m looking forward to going back to doing what I did before,” he says.
