1.21 gigawatts of fro-yo!

I love the ’80s. Rich Bowen loves the ’80s. He’s hoping you do, too.

Details

I Love Yogurt
11700 W. Charleston Blvd., 243-5683.
Monday-Sunday, 10 a.m.-midnight

Bowen owns I Love Yogurt, a 4-month-old Summerlin frozen yogurt shop utilizing what is either the coolest or dorkiest gimmick around. It all depends on how you feel about the decade that gave us Aqua Net, boom boxes and Dig Dug. Fro-yo flavors include Monster Mash and Super Mario Powermix Birthday Cake Surprise. Classic ’80s games like Frogger and Simon are available to play in-store, and there’s a Devo-inspired food challenge: Eat 100 ounces—served in an energy dome!—in 30 minutes, and it’s free. Lose and pay $19.84. (And no, either way, you don’t get to keep the headware-turned-bowl.)

Bowen plans to expand the chain, fast. Two locations (Craig and Valley Drive; Charleston and Rampart) are set to open soon, with more scheduled every two months after that. Eighties takeover of the fro-yo market? That’s, like, totally rad.
