Fremont Street Experience

Ever stroll down Fremont Street and think, “Man, that big-ass screen would be so cool for a dance party!”? Famed DJ/VJ Roonie G is bringing that to life this weekend as he takes over control of Fremont Street Experience using the largest video screen in the world to display his VJing.

From 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday, a free concert courtesy of Roonie will take place for an audio/visual event unlike anything we’ve seen before downtown -- 12.5 million lights will pulsate to the beats as images coordinated with Roonie’s live set soar 90 feet overhead along 1,500 feet of the Viva Vision screen.

As someone who helped develop the first DVD turntables alongside former Pioneer Pro DJ expert Karl Detken, you can bet Roonie’s knowledge and skills will make for one of the craziest experiences you’ve ever had on Fremont … at least the craziest one that doesn’t involve yard-long daiquiris, a trip to Glitter Gulch and a Gene Simmons impersonator.
