Moe-hee-toe. Sounds like summer, right? In an effort to ignore the slowly chilling weather, we cast an eye toward a light, refreshing beverage, available year-round at Town Square’s Caña Tapas & Rum Bar: the Blackberry Mojito. Three-to-five blackberries are muddled with 10-12 mint leaves and three-fourths of an ounce of simple syrup. Add ice and one and one-fourth ounces of rum and top with soda water. Yeah, we’re not quite ready for eggnog season, either.

Don't call it a tapas bar. Caña is a bocadillo restaurant, which means it serves "small bites" inspired by the cooking of Central and South America with drinks to match. Cocktails employing Brazilian cachaca or Colombian aguardiente (both sugar-cane-based spirits) play against a menu that explores the region's fusion cuisine and centers around a selection of nearly a dozen ceviches. The citrus-cooked seafood varieties to include hamachi, bigeye tuna, scallops, crab, salmon and whatever else is fresh and available. Typically Asian ingredients like yuzu are featured in the ceviches as well and celebrate "the natural marriage" of Japanese and South American cuisine.
