Art, virtually

The Nevada Aerospace Hall of Fame recently honored new inductees. Curious, I went online to learn more and discovered that the institution’s museum is virtual—online only—which had us here at the Weekly wondering if the homeless Las Vegas Art Museum would ever throw its collection online, offering viewers a chance to see featured artists from the collection, currently in storage. LVAM board president Patrick Duffy says he likes the idea, but that the museum might not have the funding to best process that endeavor. Turns out we may see the work anyway. Talks with UNLV are continuing, and Duffy says that a LVAM/UNLV partnership could land the collection on campus early next year, maybe even adding a virtual museum in tandem.
