Sing for your supper at Dad’s Grilled Cheese
Wed, Oct 6, 2010 (7:35 p.m.)
Everybody’s familiar with drinking games, but what about eating games? That void in your life can now be filled, courtesy of Karaoke Night at Dad’s Grilled Cheese. Monday through Wednesday from 6:30-9 p.m. you can wipe out your food ticket by scoring a 95 or better on the Magic Sing mic. Anything less and out comes the wallet.
The tune choice is yours—but select wisely; this is not as easy as it sounds. My rendition of “Total Eclipse of the Heart” got me an 81, while my near-pro singing friend managed no higher than 72 on three attempts. But maybe we shouldn’t feel too bad: Dad says only one person has actually succeeded in two months. I’ll be back to give it another shot soon. Maybe “Sweet Caroline” can win me a sandwich.
