Vegas Box hopes frequent tourists leave personal items behind

We’ve all likely stood behind one at McCarran International Airport security — travelers who purge their carry-on bag of shampoo bottles and suntan lotion because they don’t understand the TSA’s 3.4-ounce liquid restriction.

But lucky for frequent Las Vegas travelers (and those stuck behind them), there’s another solution, thanks to a new service called Vegas Box.

For $99 a year, Vegas Box allows travelers to leave items behind at their Las Vegas hotels and have them redelivered to a hotel once they've returned to the city for their next trip. Once delivery is scheduled through the company’s website, the box can be picked up and dropped off at the hotel bell desk.

You put the stuff you hope to leave behind in the box and they’ll take it to a warehouse and store it until your next Las Vegas visit.

The cost includes drop-off and pick-up, and a container that can hold up to 70 pounds. An additional box can be added for another $20.

The service is available at several Strip hotels, including Caesars Palace, Aria, Bellagio, Palazzo and Wynn. The company suggests storing almost anything in the Vegas Box, including toiletries, DVD players, pool towels and alcohol.

Now there’s no reason to chuck that unfinished fifth of tequila before heading home.
