Chef Alex Stratta is no longer at Wynn Las Vegas.
By text message Sunday, Stratta confirmed that chef and resort have agreed to amicably terminate their relationship. “I have had an incredible relationship with Steve and Elaine Wynn and they have made a very positive impact on me, both personally and professionally,” Stratta wrote. “I leave with nothing but respect and admiration and am grateful that the Wynn organization has always been very supportive of me through my career in Las Vegas.”
Stratta was most recently serving as executive chef of the Wynn Italian restaurant Stratta. The James Beard award-winning chef also headed the renowned French fine dining establishment Alex at Wynn until it closed in January.
In an email statement, Wynn Las Vegas and Encore president Marilyn Spiegel said: "We have enjoyed the benefit of Alex's talents since the opening of Wynn Las Vegas. Although we will miss him, his desire to begin a new chapter in his life and share his gifts with others less fortunate is admirable. We are pleased to continue his culinary tradition at Stratta restaurant."
Wynn's statement added that its Italian restaurant will now be headed up by resort executive chef David Snyder and Stratta restaurant assistant executive chef Joseph Leibowitz.
