Say so long to the stiletto stroll with Rollasole
Tue, Dec 13, 2011 (5:33 p.m.)
You can currently find Rollasole at Vanity, and soon at RPM Nightclub.

We’ve all seen it. The ginger, blistered gait of a girl in too-high heels at the end of a long night on the dancefloor. Some tough it out, daintily steering their platforms to the cab line, while others forsake their footwear, traipsing through casino floors or (heaven forbid!) taking to the Strip in bare feet.
Locals Ashley Ross and Lindsay Klimitz had seen it, too, and the self-confessed shoe obsessives had felt the pain of a long night in heels. What Vegas women needed, they reasoned, was a way to ditch their stilettos while maintaining their dignity. They needed Rollasole.
Ross and Klimitz partnered with the UK-based company, which makes vending machines filled with ballet flats. Rolled into a can and accompanied by a bag for the offending footwear, the rubber-soled slip-ons come in a variety of colors and patterns and sell for $20 a pair. Rollasole vending machines find their way into nightclubs, and in September, the first Vegas machine was installed at Vanity, where aching clubbers can pick up a pair that will fit into a clutch for their next night out. The Tropicana’s new RPM nightclub will get a machine around New Year’s, and Ross and Klimitz are moving into the LA market as well.
“You can’t live without your stilettos here,” Klimitz says. But you can trade them in for something a bit more sensible.
