Do diamonds make a steak taste better? Doubtful. But they look pretty damn nice.

This is a knife

As if being married to Gwen (Perpetually Adorable) Stefani and having luscious, wavy locks wasn’t enough, Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale also gets to eat his meat with some very swanky accessories. The singer took down a Wagyu filet at Cosmo’s STK last week using a $15,000 five-carat, diamond-encrusted steak knife from Jason’s of Beverly Hills. But don’t worry if they don’t break out the good china for your next visit. The steak will still taste just as good.

Lobster mail

What do you get for the hungry seafood lover who has everything? Easy! Lobster ME, the seafood-infused restaurant at Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood, has partnered with Hancock Gourmet Lobster Co. in Maine to deliver its lobster-laden dishes to the doorsteps of your friends and family. Order up lobster mac and cheese, lobster rolls, lobster ciabatta, lobster salad, smoked scallop and lobster bisque and, yes, lobster flatbread. After all, what says happy holidays like some well-cooked crustacean?

New in town

And on the new restaurant arrivals list, a slew of eateries are opening their doors around the New Year. At Tivoli Village, Double Helix will open its third Valley location (it already has outposts at the Palazzo and Town Square) with Bottles & Burgers. The new concept, open to the public on December 29, will focus on gourmet burgers and an old-school ice cream bar and soda fountain, as well as serving the brand’s private label wine, wine-based cocktails and 30 different half bottles.

Caesars Palace is importing a slice of New York with the opening of Old Homestead Steakhouse, a Manhattan institution, next week. The restaurant will be the company’s first West Coast location, and will cover 6,000 square feet, including a private dining room, lounge and bar. Along with signature dishes like the colossal crab cake and 32-ounce Gotham rib-eye, the menu will also feature new items exclusive to the Las Vegas location.

Former mayor Oscar Goodman is popping up this month at the Plaza, where Oscar’s steakhouse is slated to open in the iconic dome overlooking Fremont Street for a preview period from December 19-30. During those days, diners will be given a free chef’s choice dessert for offering their feedback. And Oscar’s, with the tagline “Beef, Booze, Broads,” plans to deliver on all three. Customers can request one of Oscar’s “broads,” to dine with them and discuss topics like Vegas history and things to do on the Strip and around Downtown.

And for fans of family-style Italian dining, Buca di Beppo is opening its first Strip location December 26 at the Excalibur. The restaurant will join another new eatery at the casino, Lynyrd Skynyrd BBQ & Beer.
