What doesn't happen here

Britney Spears was in Las Vegas last weekend, celebrating her engagement to Jason Trawick and showing off a 3.5-carat ring at Planet Hollywood. No word on when the happy couple will be getting married or where, but let us be the first to say—not in Las Vegas. Whether it’s marriages or performances, this city just doesn’t seem to agree with you, Britney.

Too much information

We applaud Justin Bieber’s efforts on behalf of Las Vegas’ Whitney Elementary School, where he staged a private concert for students and will donate $100,000 to the school. But we could have done without him telling the kids about his own family’s poverty and how he made it despite all that. Seriously, do we need a whole new generation of kids thinking they can get rich by posting videos on YouTube?

Wedding

I do ... kinda

The Cosmopolitan will open a “pop-up” wedding chapel on December 28. It will be Strip level, so passersby can watch, and will offer traditional ceremonies in addition to faux ceremonies that last 24 hours, with eraser rings dispensed from a gumball machine. Somewhere, Kim Kardashian and Britney Spears are saying, “It would have been nice to have had this last time, guys.”

She has a gift

For Brad Pitt’s 48th birthday, Angelina Jolie bought him a mess of gag gifts at the Bonanza Gift and Souvenir store at Sahara and the Strip. With her kids in tow, Jolie bought, among other things, a $19.99 toy parrot and a rattlesnake key chain. Here’s hoping she stopped by Naughty Town and got him something he actually wanted, too.
