-Two men robbed an armored-car security guard at a Valley Wells Fargo branch in January … and came away with an empty bag.

-A former North Las Vegas police officer who claimed his badge stopped a bullet from killing him admitted his story was a lie. The embarrassed Bryan Kolstad had to pay $250 in fines and perform 40 hours of community service.

-Pahrump Valley High School senior Tyler Coyner, now 19, was arrested in March on charges of hacking the school computer system and changing grades for money.

-Las Vegas Sands Corp. announced in February it would be cutting comps for the average gambler. First-quarter reports in May showed a 47 percent decline in casino revenue and a 6 percent drop in room revenue.

-Remember that Las Vegas show Triumph? No? Probably because it never really opened, closing in February before its official opening night at the Las Vegas Hilton.
