We’ve got a Harry Potter tribute band

“If you want to get yourself to the Hogwart’s School of Wizardry, you must take the train that goes there.” Pretty easy to guess what local band Hogwart’s Express was singing about last Friday at the Gypsy Den … unless you haven’t read the books. The Harry Potter tribute band formed three years ago, but the lineup has evolved into quite the local supergroup. The Clydesdale’s Andrew Karasa sings and writes most of the songs with help from his sister, vocalist Jane Comegys. The other members are Jason Aragon (Clydesdale/Dusty Sunshine) on drums, Judi Brown (Pan de Sal) on bass and Ryan Marth (The Big Friendly Corporation) on piano and guitar. “I called the band Hogwart’s Express based off the train [in the book], so we try to write songs about things that happen on the train. But we don’t limit ourselves to that.” If you’re a big Harry Potter fan (and no, the movies don’t count), this is one train you’ll definitely want to jump on.
