By now, the story of Sola and her Las Vegas Tapestry is the stuff of legend. Years holed up near the Hard Rock Hotel, pilgrimages to the rooftops of parking structures, yards of unraveled sweaters, all woven together to capture a fleeting moment in the erratic life of the Las Vegas Strip.

For centuries, tapestries have done far more than warm dank castle walls. With bright imagery and painstaking detail, the tapestry conveys an epic story (or history) in a way that words cannot. It is earthy, beautiful and disarmingly cerebral. Obsessive handwork and an inherently inviting materiality combine to imbue the image with a splendid generosity, physical weight and psychic impact. A fleeting historical moment is made timeless through an image that captures all of its magical, mythic grandeur.
