History Channel series American Restoration and Pawn Stars have boosted attendance at the Clark County Museum on Boulder Highway, while turning local history treasure Mark Hall-Patton into a celebrity (thus proving that you don’t have to be an imbecilic fame-whore to engage reality television audiences). Hall-Patton, who oversees the County Museum and Aviation Museum (inside McCarran Airport), is an oft-consulted expert on Pawn Stars, and his appearances have raised the County Museum visitor count by 42 percent, according to museum officials. The museum started surveying guests at the end of April, and 57 percent said they had heard about the museum through the shows. Additionally, visitors aching to meet Hall-Patton are requesting his presence at the front desk.
