As Electric Daisy Carnival raved and thumped through three nights of electronic dance music at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, a more controversial figure from the DJ scene is hosted his own three-day shindig this weekend. Jersey Shore cast member DJ Pauly D launched his Palms residency, which will have him playing various times/dates throughout the year at N9NE Group venues on the property, including Pool & Bungalows, Rain and Moon. I sat down with the Italian stallion on Friday. Here’s what I came away with:

Shore girls vs. Vegas girls
When asked which group is hotter, DJ Pauly D skirted the question, stating, “I love my Jersey girls but Vegas girls do their thing …” He concluded it would have to be a tie. If the DJ-thing doesn’t work out, he may have a future in politics. Seaside mayor’s office, beware!

4 ½ inches
Don’t fret—we’re talking about how tall his trademark hair is. Apparently, while in Italy filming Jersey Shore, Pauly D refused to use the local barbers. “I didn’t trust them with it,” he explained. “So my hair got serious.”
Haters gonna hate
Pauly D acknowledges that his MTV stardom is what got him noticed by the Palms but insists that it only got his foot through the door. He says it was his love for the music and 10 years of experience that secured the rest. “(The Palms) only gave me a chance,” he says, referring to a one-off performance earlier this year in March. “I had to prove myself. I did.”
Swacked!
Jersey Shore brought us “DTF” (down to you-know-what), “grenade” (the girl you sleep with/entertain in order to allow your bro to snag the hot one) and “GTL” (gym, tan, laundry). Now, the walking urban dictionary that is Pauly D brings us “swacked.” Definition: When someone just jacked your swagger.
Fourth meal
Pauly D loves Italian food, duh, but his go-to spot for fast food: Taco Bell, specifically for the chicken soft tacos.

The D vs. The Donald
Again refusing to take a stance, Pauly D wasn’t sure who has more recognizable hair: him or Donald Trump. His thoughts? The world has room for both. “Donald Trump is old school. I’m new school.” Forget mayor of Seaside … Pauly D for Pres!
Boobs!
DJs have become household names and superstars, so it’s no surprise that women will try anything to get noticed by the DJ. Pauly D’s best advice for getting noticed: “Flash them. It works.” Backup plan: Throw your underwear … assuming you’re wearing any.
