NBT & Cirque join forces to present ‘A Choreographers’ Showcase’

Nevada Ballet Theatre and Cirque du Soleil are giving you two chances to see their collabo-show: May 15 & 22.

It’s one thing to perform. It’s another to create. Nevada Ballet Theatre and Cirque du Soleil give dancers a chance at both with their annual collaboration, A Choreographers’ Showcase. The event features dancers from NBT and such Cirque productions as O, Mystere, KÀ, Zumanity and Viva Elvis performing original works choreographed by members of both companies. Founded in 2007, the showcase has turned into one of Southern Nevada’s most interesting dance events, merging the entertainment industry with fine art on a high-tech stage. Nevada Ballet artists choreograph five works, Cirque artists five more, with all 10 pieces incorporating dancers from both. Past editions have included narrative and abstract numbers, performed as duets and ensemble works.
