Where Vegas ranks with casino-lovers

Surprisingly, less than half of people polled would pick Vegas over casino-rich towns such as Reno and Atlantic City.

I’ve got good news and bad news. The good news is that, according to a recent Fairleigh Dickinson University poll, Las Vegas ranks as the No. 1 American casino destination choice. The bad news is that only 47 percent of the 711 American adults surveyed picked Las Vegas. For you liberal arts majors, that’s less than half. Topping this poll is nothing to be proud of. We’re Las Vegas; of course we’re going to be No. 1. But we should be winning with 90 percent of the vote. Collectively, New Orleans, Atlantic City, Reno and St. Louis are nipping at our heels. And if word ever got out about last week’s wind, those nips could turn into full-blown bites.
