The Rapture is coming! Here’s a survival kit
Wed, May 18, 2011 (3:20 p.m.)
Be sure to have some soothing sounds on hand for the Rapture this Saturday!
Forget Harold Camping’s failed Rapture prediction of 1996. The Christian radio broadcaster says this time it’s for real. He’s predicted May 21, 2011 as the Christian Rapture, followed by the end of the world October 21, 2011. Some Weekly readers will, of course, be leaving us. For the rest, here’s a handy guide to better End Times living:
•Works by Samuel Beckett
Empathy and dark humor can help diffuse pain. For this, Beckett is your guy. The End is a warm embrace during frenzied chaos. Endgame and Waiting for Godot will add reason to confusion.
•Good sneakers
The End Times are likely to be aggressive, violent and exhausting. Good shoes guarantee traction and comfort during long journeys on foot. They also give you an edge when escaping vigilantes and looters.
