Big screen deja vu—’Hangover 2’ is in good company

Image

Three friends once again wake up after a night of partying with no recollection of what happened the night before and must track down a missing comrade. A few other sequels also put their main characters through unlikely scenarios more than once.

Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992) Poor Kevin McCallister is once again left behind when his family goes on vacation, although at least this time he’s stuck in a fancy New York hotel instead of at home in the suburbs.

Weekend at Bernie’s II (1993) It’s a good thing Bernie’s corpse hasn’t putrefied yet, because there’s yet another reason for his former employees to cart him around and try to make people believe he’s still alive.

Die Hard 2 (1990) That John McClane sure has a knack for being in the wrong place at the wrong time on Christmas Eve. First it was a building under siege; this time it’s an airport taken over by terrorists.

Big Momma’s House 2 (2006) What, you mean this new undercover assignment also requires the macho FBI agent to dress up like a fat grandma? Sure, that seems plausible!
