Close race, but José Andrés’ avant-garde cuisine wins by a wabbit—in this case the Canary Island confit of baby Bugs you can’t find anywhere but Spain. Crazy conviviality, paella and a parade of plate after small plate are all pluses. At Cosmopolitan. Fri.-Sat., 5 p.m.-midnight, Sun.-Thur., 5 p.m.-11 p.m. 698-7950.

Jaleo
If you are looking for authentic Spanish tapas, look no further then Jaleo. The Washington, D.C., original is such a favorite of Cosmopolitan CEO John Unwin that he decided to bring it to Las Vegas. Chef Jose Andres serves up Spanish favorites like serrano ham, paella and of course, sangria. Jaleo executive chef Rodolfo Guzman says his favorite dish on the menu are the paellas.
Jaleo is a finalist for the 2013 James Beard Foundation Awards in the Best Restaurant Design category (76 seats and over), for the design created by David Rockwell and his Rockwell Group. The winners will be announced in May.
The restaurant within Jaleo, called é by José Andrés, was named in March 2013 to Yelp's list for the top 100 more expensive restaurants in the U.S.
