The L.A. Times has released its first e-book, and it’s got a Las Vegas tie-in: A Nightmare Made Real, by Times staff writer Christopher Goffard, details the ordeal of Las Vegas banker Louis Gonzalez III, falsely accused in 2008 of kidnapping, torturing and sexually assaulting his ex-girlfriend in California amid a nasty custody dispute.

It’s the first of eight to 10 e-books the Times expects to release this year. Nightmare, initially reported by Goffard as a two-part series in June, will be available for download on Kindle, Nook and iBooks for 99 cents. The expanded version includes a more detailed account.
