A valid excuse

Al Levy, a one-time Las Vegas City Councilman who died 14 years ago, got a jury duty summons recently. He was excused after his wife produced a death certificate, so we don’t get to use the Weekend at Bernie’s joke we had planned. Damn!

Steven Bernard Hill, a Las Vegas-based singer best known for his 1990 No. 1 hit, “Because I Love You (The Postman Song),” was arrested while on stage in Massachusetts on charges of owing $420,000 in unpaid child support. Police say they would have arrested him after his set, but they couldn’t risk an encore.

A bunch of craps

Wynn Las Vegas is suing two Argentinean gamblers for allegedly engaging in “dice sliding” while playing craps. “Dice sliding” is where the player slides the dice down the table instead of rolling them. “Incredulous” is what we are that anyone thinks they could actually do that without being seen.

Las Vegas-based social media company CheaterVille announced this week it has acquired ZackTaylor.ca, one of the largest celebrity gossip websites in Canada. This union is expected to finally address that burning question: Canada has celebrities?
