Eat yourself silly at the San Gennaro Feast

Pass the Parmesan Cannelloni and cannoli. Ziti and zeppole. Linguini Bolognese. Is your mouth watering yet? If so, you might want to consider attending the San Gennaro Feast, held through September 18 at the Rio.

The festival celebrates 32 years of food and fun this year and commemorates the patron saint of Naples, the seaside Italian city famous for being the birthplace of pizza. You’ll find a whole lot more at San Gennaro than just hot slices, though, as a number of local eateries will be serving up an ample spread of traditional Italian favorites during the six-day celebration.
Strip headliners and other performers take the stage daily at 4 p.m., and a carnival with 30 games and 29 rides (including a 140-foot roller coaster) is planned, as well. There’s only one thing left to say: Buon appetito!
