Anyone who’s played online games knows how simultaneously intense and fun the experience can be. Now, imagine that community of worldwide gamers all in the same room with a crowd so pumped up you’d think they were watching Game Seven of the World Series. That about sums up the IGN Pro League, which comes to town this weekend to pit the globe’s best gamers against one another in StarCraft 2 for $100,000 and League of Legends for $50,000. No matter how good you thought you were at video games as a kid, trust us, you’ve got nothing on these guys. Their devotion to the game is frightening. In addition, the Global StarCraft Team League finals will make its western debut, featuring two teams that love to trash talk and taunt one another. It’s kinda like the WWE of gaming.
