The fourth annual Couture for Causes will transform Bree and Jason Goldwater’s ranch into the site of spring’s must-attend fashion benefit, raising funds and awareness for local children’s charity Communities in Schools of Nevada. CISN works to improve graduation rates and provides critical services to “ensure students in Nevada have the support they need to excel in school and achieve in life,” says Susie Lee, CISN board president.
Couture for Causes launched in 2008, when the Goldwaters first collected and sold pre-loved designer clothing, donating the proceeds. Initially, the clothes came from friends and clients of their Box Human Landscaping business; today, stylish supporters include a who’s who of Vegas fashion, including Zappos, Stitched, Jason of Beverly Hills, Beckley, Fruition and R&D Hipster Emporium. Elaine Wynn personally donated eight rare pieces valued at $30,000.
Live backyard entertainment will be headlined by Le Rêve and Nevada Ballet Theatre; art collectors can browse a local showcase; and for the first time, Couture for Causes will include a live art auction. Tray-passed bites come courtesy of chefs from Wynn and Encore, and the Cosmopolitan is hosting a special Bloody Mary bar and a beauty bar doling out mini-makeovers for kids.
Shop, sip and snack at the Goldwaters’ this year—with 800 expected guests, Couture for Causes could soon outgrow the ranch.
