Vegas is experiencing a Thrifty ice cream resurgence this summer. The extra creamy drugstore brand, formerly hard to find, seems to be popping up all over, including at Sweet Addiction, where you can get your chocolate malted crunch with an upgrade.
The specialty at this new southwest dessert shop is an ice cream-cookie sandwich, customizable with your favorite flavors. How about pistachio between oatmeal raisin? Or chilly, refreshing mint chocolate chip between two warm mint chocolate chip cookies? The friendly service and fresh-baked cookies give Sweet Addiction a homey feel, and the prices are right—sandwiches are $3 and ice cream-cookie sundaes are $4. Of course, you can always settle for one of those weird, cylindrical scoops of your favorite Thrifty flavor on a cone.
