Time flies. We party. Yes, the Weekly is turning 14 this week, and we’re celebrating with a classic birthday bash at Hyde on December 14. (How appropriate!) Along with free Captain Morgan cocktails from 9-11 p.m., the fête will feature cotton candy, party hats and recent Weekly cover girl Holly Madison walking the carpet. The icing on the proverbial cake is the cake itself—a four-tiered cupcake extravagance from Freed’s Bakery with flavors like mint chocolate chip, red velvet and Bailey’s mousse. RSVP at lasvegasweekly.com/14 to get on the guest list and help us blow out the candles. After all, we wouldn’t have made it to 14 without you, Las Vegas.
Remember Red Square? The Russian-themed restaurant and bar at Mandalay Bay—complete with headless, pigeon-pooed statue of Lenin by the front door—reopened this week under Light Group management. The restaurant has new menus courtesy of chef Brian Massie, complemented by the Soviet decor and Vodka Vault that made the venue such a hit its first time around. Throw on a faux fur coat and step inside the Vault to experience the Square’s fabulous 120-bottle vodka selection, or belly up to the ice bar for new cocktails by venue mixologist Michael Monrreal.
