Animal lovers Taylor Makakoa and Terry Fator served as hosts of the 200-person Heaven Can Wait animal rescue society luncheon at the M Resort, where the Mirage headliner and his wife presented a check to match $30,000 in donations. Taylor is the official spokeswoman of the organization.
Country stars spotted shopping at Backstage Creations’ Celebrity Retreat during the 2012 American Country Awards at Mandalay Bay on Monday included Best New Artist winner Lauren Alaina and singer Jana Kramer slipping into Ballsox fashions and Bottero’s lace-up boots, which also caught co-host Kristin Chenoweth’s eyes. CC Corso Como shipped out six pairs of size 5 shoes for pint-sized Kristin, who said: “It is hard for me to find comfortable high heels. I can never find shoes in size 5!”
Kimberly Shlapman of Little Big Town loved her turquoise-and-black necklace from Coulee Creek, and Lynyrd Skynyrd guitarist Rickey Medlocke raved about Jeri Designs and immediately placed a strap onto his new guitar.
Breakthrough Artist of the Year Jake Owen, at the McFadin baby booth, said: “When I bring this diaper bag home to my wife and 3-week old baby, I am going to be a hero!” San Francisco Giants star Barry Zito slipped into shirts from Resistol, as did singer Kip Moore, and Dustin Lynch chose a pair of Teva boots.

In the spirit of Venice, The Venetian is a little piece of romantic Italy right here in Las Vegas. The Venetian is an "all-suite" hotel, with rooms accented with plush linens and Italian marble. The 4,027 suites are divided into two towers: The 36-story Venetian Tower that offers guests a taste of luxurious Las Vegas and the Venezia suites, which guarantee 12 floors of high-end elegance. The Venetian features 19 restaurants including Thomas Keller's award-winning French restaurant Bouchon, Mario Batali's B&B Ristorante, Aquaknox for fresh seafood and the 42,000 square foot TAO Asian Bistro. There's also the food court inside the Canal Shoppes for those looking for a quick bite.
Guests can float along The Grand Canal Shops in an authentic Italian gondola ride and pass stores like Burberry and Kenneth Cole along the way. And if you haven't caught a real celeb, on the street in Vegas, you can head over to Madame Tussauds to check out a wax version.
Palms Casino Resort has come a long way since its "Real World" debut in 2002. The boutique property features three distinct towers and a diverse mix of bars and restaurants across a 95,000-square-foot casino.
Palms, which features more than 1,200 rooms and fantasy suites, is currently undergoing a multi-million dollar transformation that will encompass an Ivory Tower room and suite redesign, new culinary additions, re-imagined gaming spaces and new, distinctive nightlife experiences.
