Last weekend’s Super Bowl featured some highlight plays, some decent commercials—and a crapload of betting. Here’s a breakdown of the action spurred by the grudge match between the Giants and the Patriots:
$93,889,840
Amount wagered by gamblers across Nevada’s 184 legal sports books on Super Bowl 46.
$5,064,470
Amount won by Nevada’s legal sports books on the game (they had the New England Patriots as 3-point favorites).
$2,573,103
Amount Nevada’s sports books lost on Super Bowl 42 in 2008, the last time the Giants faced the Patriots in the Super Bowl—the only time in the past 10 years they’ve lost money on the game.

Prior to Sunday’s game, the number of times in Super Bowl history the first score has been a safety. (It was Super Bowl 9, between the Vikings and the Steelers in 1975.)
$50,000
Amount won by Jona Rechnitz, who bet $1,000 that the first score of the game would be a Giants safety. He says he plans to donate it all to charity.
