So many symphonies, so little time. If you’re a fan of orchestras, there’s plenty to enjoy this week—and it won’t dent your wallet much, either. The Henderson Symphony Orchestra is up first at Henderson Convention Center (February 10, 8 p.m., free), performing "Joyous Overture" by Roberto Sierra, Concerto No. 3 for Guitar Elegiaco by Leo Brouwer, "Cascade & Bow" by Diego Vega and Three Cornered Hat Suite No. 2 by Manuel de Falla.
Next, the Nevada Chamber Symphony presents its annual children’s concert at Clark County Library (February 12, 3 p.m., free), featuring short works, discussions of the work and a chance to look at instruments and meet musicians.
And for Valentine’s Day, the UNLV Symphony Orchestra presents Mahler and Pastorall at Artemus Ham Hall (February 14, 7:30 p.m., $8-$10), featuring Felix Mendelssohn’s Overture to A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Gustav Mahler’s Adagietto from his Symphony No. 5 in C# Minor, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6 in F Major (Pastoral). Isn’t it great to have too many choices?
