The Details

  • Valentino
  • Venetian, 733-5000
  • Sunday brunch, 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Valentino remains one of the best and most consistent Italian dining experiences on the Strip, and now there’s something new from James Beard Award-winning chef Luciano Pellegrini at this stalwart venue: brunch.

Valentino’s brunch menu—available only on Sundays—includes all the classics, unlimited bubbles ($15) or Bloodys ($25), and some nice twists on traditional mid-morning faves. There’s a wild boar sausage scramble with tomatoes and bell peppers, or tender veal scaloppini in butter and garlic with eggs and hash browns, er, make that rustic potato Napoleon.

Then there’s a three-course, $39 menu that includes rather large entrée portions of roasted chicken, lamb chops, grilled sea bass with couscous and more, appetizer options such as crab and potato pancakes, spicy shrimp and scallop gratin, or eggplant Parmesan, all finished by two tiny, tasty desserts. It’s a whole lot of food for a decent price, but it isn’t really brunch. If they crossed out “Brunch Menu,” wrote “Dinner Prix Fixe” and served this stuff at night, it’d be a spectacular deal.
