Nightlife news & notes: A nightlife roast, an exclusive Scotch whiskey pouring and more
Tue, Feb 21, 2012 (5:13 p.m.)
Casa Fuente is the only venue in Nevada that will carry Cask of Dreams.
Everyone loves a good roast, and the crew Jack Colton has lined up for March 7 at LAX should provide plenty of punch lines. The Local Celebrity Roast will put nightlife notables—including Zee Zandi, Gino LoPinto, Marklen Kennedy and Al Powers—in the hot seat to test their senses of humor and give everyone a good laugh. Mark your calendars to see who gets the best ribbing ... or is it the worst?
You’ve always wanted to sip a martini in the presence of fair maidens and dashing knights. They’ve always wanted to have a magazine host a party in their honor. Everybody wins February 29 at the Lady Silvia when Desert Companion hosts from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. alongside members of medieval recreation group the Society for Creative Anachronism. Expect period-appropriate dress and swordplay. Sans bubonic plague.
Whiskey lovers, this is what you’ve been dreaming about. On February 29, Casa Fuente at the Forum Shops will pour Glenfiddich’s Cask of Dreams Scotch whiskey, a mix of Glenfiddich whiskeys 14 years and older, of which just 3,500 bottles were made. The cigar and whiskey bar is the only place in Nevada that will carry Cask of Dreams, and the tasting will be open to members of its Spirits Society. Join up at casafuentespiritssociety.com.
