The Details

Lisa Lampanelli
January 14, 8 p.m, $49.50-$59.50
The Pearl, 942-7777

You might know insult comic Lisa Lampanelli from her Comedy Central Roast appearances, but if you haven’t seen her yet, you’ve got two good chances coming up: She plays the Pearl on January 14, and she’ll compete on the next season of Celebrity Apprentice, which begins February 12.

Will your fans be happy with your Celebrity Apprentice appearance? If they already know me, they’ll be happy with how I act. I get annoyed by stupidity and I have no tolerance for laziness, especially when I’m working 20 hours a day. So, yeah, my fans should love it.

Did they encourage you to be “on”? No, not at all. I was 100 percent myself. They film so many hours every day—you’ve got to be yourself. And I show a lot of genuine emotion on the show. If somebody hurts my feelings, I’m going to cry. Some of my butch gay fans might be like, “What a pussy,” but people with insecurities will appreciate it.

What do you like to do when you visit Las Vegas? Last time I was here, I saw the Penn show—the magic show.

Isn’t somebody else involved in that production … ? You mean Teller? He doesn’t count, and he knows it.
