Get revved up with a few spins through new Black Star songs “Fix Up” and “You Already Knew,” expected to be included on the duo’s long-awaited new album later this year. January 26, 9 p.m., $5.
The Good Foot at Revolution Looking for an electronic dance music alternative? Revolution brings you beats of the hip-hop variety every Thursday night. A Bonnie & Clyde dance battle serves as the main entertainment for this week’s installment, with the winner taking home a $500 prize. Also planned: sounds from resident DJ G-Minor and a special appearance by B-boy Ben of Super Cr3w and the Jabbawockeez. January 26, doors at 10 p.m., $20.
Call of the Wild at Beauty Bar Local artist collective Industry Supporting Industry presents its first show of 2012 Friday night, featuring tattoo art incorporating creatures of the animal kingdom. A performance by The Bloody Villains, live painting from Redemption Tattoo’s Juan Muniz and Black Wolf Tattoo’s Anthony Ortega and grub from Tasty Bunz food truck round out the evening. January 27, doors at 9 p.m., free.
Peter Facinelli at Chateau Calling all 21-and-up Twi-hards (we know you’re out there): The actor behind Carlisle Cullen celebrates the Twilight series at the Paris nightspot Saturday. And hey, even those who haven’t joined Team Edward or Team Jacob can enjoy beats by trance DJ Christopher Lawrence. January 28, doors at 10 p.m., $30 men, $20 women.
Lingerie Bash at Posh Ladies: Do you like free booze? Men: Do you like scantily clad ladies? Then consider the boutique nightclub’s Saturday night party. Women in negligees can partake in an open bar from 1 to 3 a.m. and get the chance to win $1,000 in a lingerie contest. January 28, 1 a.m., $20, $30 if you arrive by taxi, locals in their own transportation free.
Nick Carter at Vanity The former Backstreet Boy celebrates his 32nd birthday at the Hard Rock Hotel nightspot Saturday. Not only is he performing (his latest solo album, I’m Taking Off, was released in May), but he’s also taking over the tables for a special DJ set. Backstreet’s back, alright! January 28, doors at 11 p.m., $30 men, $20 women, local ladies free.
Diplo at XS He’s helped produce all three of M.I.A.’s albums, including hit single “Paper Planes.” Now hear the Philly DJ spin for the Encore nightclub’s IN industry night. Dave Fogg also takes a turn in the DJ booth. January 30, doors at 10 p.m., $30 men, $20 women, local ladies & industry free.
