Thinking about football losses, ‘A Bronx Tale’ and more

Safe and insane

I applaud local law enforcement’s TV campaign to make the streets safer. “Stop on red”? Makes sense. “Buckle up”? Hell yeah. “Stay in your lane”? Yeah, good luck with that one, guys. —Ken Miller, associate editor

What’s the point?

Let’s all be cautious with our exclamation points. The cover of my roommate’s Elle magazine reads, “WOMEN IN TV!” Makes it seem like the editors just can’t believe that women are now involved in the process. —Rick Lax, staff writer

Name blame

Watching 49ers receiver Kyle Williams singlehandedly lose the NFC Championship, I was reminded of Boise State kicker Kyle Brotzman, who botched two field goals against UNR in 2010, losing the Broncos the Rose Bowl. The lesson? Never trust a guy named Kyle. —Erin Ryan, staff writer

All that chazz

A Bronx Tale, Chazz Palminteri’s one-man show, is one of the best shows I’ve seen on the Strip. It doesn’t arrive at the Mirage until March 12, but I’m already practicing my Bronx accent. —Sarah Feldberg, editor

Sugar high

There’s nothing like a Strangers With Candy bender to take your mind off the even more perverse hilarity of GOP debates. Thank you, Amy Sedaris. I mean, “Jerri Blank.” —Kristen Peterson, staff writer
