Kid Meets Cougar meets the Thompsons for another video delight
Fri, Jan 27, 2012 (11 a.m.)
My 6-year-old daughter has dialed up the video for Kid Meets Cougar’s “Hey Hey” so many times, I’m surprised it doesn’t auto-play when she sits at the computer. Good news, kiddo: The team behind that 2009 creation just released a follow-up.
New KMC song “Apollo Repeat” features more nifty visuals from local filmmakers Mike and Jerry Thompson. We’re talking Greek sun god, magic harp and raging desert party here, with a storyline that follows bandmembers Brett Bolton and Courtney Carroll on a desperate rescue mission.
Of course, cool videos only keep us coming back if they’re paired with quality tunes, and “Apollo Repeat” is certainly that, a buoyant, energy-building pop song topped by captivating boy-girl harmonies.
Copies of Kid Meets Cougar’s new EP, Sierra Papa Tango, go on sale at a February 24 release show at Winchester Cultural Center. In the meantime, the Thompsons have all you kids covered—and the grown-ups, too.
