Vendetta in Vegas Arm Wrestling | Crown Theater at the Rio | June 28, 2012 | 12:09 p.m.
Arm wrestlers are quite imposing. Generally, they’re very big guys, with big arms and big necks, and they do a lot of grunting and screaming. I learned all this last week while photographing professional arm wrestling for the first time, during Vendetta in Vegas. In this shot, Andrey Pushkar of Ukraine was pumping himself up for his match against Canadian great Devon Larratt with some good, old-fashioned yelling backstage. Though Pushkar lost to the Canadian in the six-round match, his pre-bout screams made him the true winner in my book.
