The Details
- New Works
Despite putting out two books that lead you to believe otherwise—The Beauty of Fetish and The Beauty of Fetish, Volume II—Steve Diet Goedde doesn’t like to call himself a fetish photographer. He’s not into creating hardcore S&M imagery, or representing sex for the sake of sex. He’s more of a fine art photographer, whose subject matter happens to be erotic imagery and beautiful women.
Dita Von Teese, Masuimi Maax, Gina Velour and the Porcelain Twinz are among the models in his lengthy portfolio of women posing in plush home environments, urban streets and costumes. In New Works, an exhibit at Sin City Gallery, Goedde invites us into his personal world.
The only model is his girlfriend Yee. The images are sexy and playfully provocative. More than anything, they’re intimate—Yee in muted pink stilettos and a pastel plaid mini dress playfully posed face down on a living room chair; Yee in garters, stockings, black lingerie and platform stilettos in a hotel room, leaning against the air conditioning unit; abstract close-ups of Yee’s form-fitting cotton panties.
As with his older works, Goedde’s love of style and fashion (vintage era) comes through in these mostly black-and-white photographs that alternate between the dramatic and natural and feature the many personas of a woman.
