One of the longest-running Las Vegas restaurant rumors became official today when it was announced that chef and culinary TV star Gordon Ramsay, who opened his first restaurant on the Strip in May with Gordon Ramsay Steak at Paris, will helm a second dining destination within the Caesars Entertainment empire. Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill is set to open in late 2012 at Caesars Palace, in the space currently occupied by Bradley Ogden.

Ogden’s restaurant, one of the Strip’s finest since 2003, will close August 5. Rumors of a Ramsay gastropub concept taking over the central Caesars casino location were rampant even before the Paris steakhouse project was announced.

“I am overwhelmed by the support Gordon Ramsay Steak has received by guests and our Caesars Entertainment partners, and I’m excited to now bring some more of my favorite cuisine and an authentic pub experience to Caesars Palace,” Ramsay stated in today’s press release.

EDG Interior Architecture + Design will go to work on transforming the space into an English pub-styled eatery serving lunch and dinner. The menu will offer traditional, rustic British pub grub including bangers and mash and fish and chips “as well as some of Ramsay’s favorites like London broil prepared on a wood-burning grill,” and more than 40 beers on tap. A “patio” extending onto the casino floor should contribute to the casual vibe.
