The filet mignon flatbread is a beefy, cheesy part of Fleming’s new bar menu.
The Details

- 8721 W. Charleston Blvd., 838-4774
- Monday-Thursday, 5-10 p.m.; Friday-Saturday, 5-10:30 p.m.; Sunday, 5-9 p.m.
Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse is a big franchise, with restaurants spread over 28 states. The Summerlin-area location is the only one in Nevada, planted next to other well-known names. Like its brethren in the world of corporate cuisine, it doesn’t get much attention from the likes of, well, me.
But here’s the beefy bottom line: It’s among the best off-Strip, out-of-casino steakhouses. That might be a short list, but sometimes you just want to skip the parking garages and long walks, roll up to a nice bar and order a martini and a slab of cow. Now more than before, Fleming’s is a great place to fill that need.
The restaurant’s new Bar la Carte menu boasts six new dishes, all heftier than your run-of-the-mill appetizer selection. Among them are a prime rib melt ($16), with Swiss cheese, mushrooms and horseradish on a toasted parmesan baguette, and the filet mignon flatbread ($12), with blue and jack cheeses and red onion confit. The main attraction is Fleming’s Prime Burger ($14), with Wisconsin cheddar, bacon and onion rings. This is a seriously satisfying burger, especially when paired with a cold beer. Nothing like dinner at the steakhouse bar, franchise or otherwise.
