As Gabriel Iglesias puts it, “You can’t ignore the 600-pound gorilla in the room.” But you can joke about it. And, starting April 2, you can eat it.
To coincide with comedian Iglesias’ April 6-7 dates at the Mirage, BLT Burger is running a special menu April 2-8 with burgers dedicated to the comedian’s six levels of fatness—big, healthy, husky, fluffy, daaaamn and oh hell no! Iglesias will appear at the restaurant April 5 from 1-3 p.m. to meet fans, and the first 50 people to order a burger off the Fluffy Menu, along with fat fries and the Fluffy Cake Shake (heart-stopping details below), take home a free Iglesias DVD and T-shirt.
Calendar
- Gabriel Iglesias
- April 6-7, 10 p.m., $50-$60.
- Mirage, 792-7777
So just what does the special menu entail? The Big ($6) are pickles, deep-fried for extra goodness and served with a ranch-chili dipping sauce. Next up is the Healthy, though certainly not by most standards. The $9 burger sports cheese, bacon, a fried egg and tobacco onions. Husky? Same as the healthy, with the mayonnaise added and the bacon swapped for BLT sauce ($13). Fluffy adds a second patty ($19), and Damn ($24)—designed by Iglesias—features a ridiculous three patties topped with a fried egg, cheese, tobacco onions and BLT sauce. Last but literally least, the Oh Hell No! ($34) features the Damn burger served with fat fries and a Fluffy Cake Shake made with Godiva liquor, vanilla vodka, chocolate ice cream, chocolate cake, fudge icing and chocolate whipped cream.
The 600-pound gorilla in the room? Yeah, it would fill him up, too.
