The Details
- Farms & Families May 5-6, 10 a.m., free, 822-7700
You’ve heard how they say Vegas isn’t family-friendly? They talk a lot, don’t they? Too bad they’re wrong. It doesn’t get much better for families than this weekend, as the Community Food Council, in coordination with Three Square Food Bank and the Springs Preserve, hosts the Farms & Families Festival. It’s a celebration of fresh food at the Springs Preserve, and thanks to the participation of Target, everything is free. That means unlimited access to all the Springs Preserve attractions, museums and exhibits, enough of a reason to attend in and of itself. But throw in arts and crafts, stories for the kids, films, lectures, cooking demonstrations, seed planting, Zumba and yoga, and you’ve officially run out of excuses to not go. One more thing: Please go the extra mile and bring some canned food to donate to Three Square at the entrance.
